”In April, I visited a benign patch of desert in the Jornada del Muerto Valley of New Mexico- the Trinity Test Site, the location of the world’s first nuclear explosion on July 16, 1945. Trinity is my first published portfolio of work in five years in the form of this forty eight page newsprint tabloid. Miles deep within the active White Sands Missile Range, at the site’s first open house in two years, I experienced and photographed the landscape and people who visited throughout the day. It was a subtle and jarring experience at this site representing ultra violence and the darkness of man.” -ZL, 2022
